your house always smelled like fresh bread and your bread was the best bread i have ever tasted. You tried to teach me how to make your bread before you went but it didn't turn out, but being able to do that with you was very special to me. You were always worried about everyone around you,", have you eaten? yes nan I ate. Oh, well here I made you a bologna sandwich. I remember me and cass told you that mom gave us a spoonful of sugar every night before bed and you believed us, so every night before bed you would give us a spoonful of sugar. Mom would drop us off at your house and pick us up at the end of the day and when I was a baby she would pick me up and find a quarter taped to my belly button. you would put it there because I had an outy and you thought it would fix my bellybutton. Even in your final days, you couldn't speak but you used every bit of energy and power to tell me you loved me. Anyone that had the privilege to meet you was very lucky. All my friends that met you miss you very much. I will never forget what you always told me, which was the only time I heard you swear. if a man ever touches your wooha you smack him in the mouth and tell him to f off" and you told me that over and over again I am so glad I got to not only meet you but call you my nan and when I'm 80 years old laying in my bed I will have your necklace and your ring on. Your handwriting tattooed on my skin. I love you nanny. You are and always will be the most amazing beautiful soul I have ever met you genuinely were an angle you always said I was your angel from heaven your gift from god but you were always wrong because you were my angel from heaven I hope you know how loved you are and I think you did I am so lucky to be able to meet you and love you you inspire me to be a better person you loved any person you met, when I was about five I brought over my friend Haylee to your house and Haylee asked me what your name was I told her your name and she said “Alice could I have a cup of water” and you swung around and said “you don’t call me Alice you call me nanny” so for the past 12 years me and Haylee have been friends you have been nanny you were such a kind soul you would buy packs of ice cream only to hand out to the neighborhood kids. I am so thankful that I was there to spend the last two months of your life with you and I would give anything to do it again but you were so happy that I was there and the only thing you wanted to do was go to moms wedding it was always your dream so I’ve planned to take some of your ashes to walk down the isle and I will do the same for my wedding grandma gave me your engagement ring and now my dream is to have your ring as my wedding ring the necklace you wore everyday since I can remember has been on my neck and will stay there for the rest of time you’ve always been so giving even when moms water broke you went over to her house and said “awe crissy you can’t wear a tong (Newfie accent) you can’t wear a tong here” pulled down your pants took off your underwear and said “ here take mine dere clean dere clean” I have so much to say about you you were such an important part of my life I guess I should tell the story that you told every single person “ when Paytin was little she would pass me the remote and say here nan I’m going to bed” I will never meet anyone like you but I love you with my whole heart and I pray to see you again

There was no one else like Alice. She was the dearest, sweetest human being. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives. She was loving and kind to everyone and never said a bad word about anyone. She dearly loved her family and they were so precious to her. Alice loved to have fun and she loved to make us laugh. She was always there if we needed to talk. Alice loved to dance and I'm sure she will be dancing in heaven! Alice's religious beliefs were very dear to her. Jesus was her Lord and her Savior. She loved Jesus and now she is with Him and her loved ones in heaven. Take good care of her God until we are with her again. Thank you Alice for being such a dear friend. So until we meet again.....

Mom and Alice were close friends for so many years sharing lots of fun times. The first pic was taken at one of many Christmas parties at my house in 2010. The 2nd pic was taken at another Christmas party but at the Legion in 2014 The last 2 pics were taken a few months ago trying on some new dresses. Alice was a sweet soul with such a good heart. Rest easy sweet lady ❤️

Nanny wasn’t a term that was meant only for her family. Anyone who met her didn’t even know her name.. it was just nanny. She didn’t care who you were, or what you looked like, “god loves all his children” she would say. Even though I was not her blood she loved me no different. She fully accepted me after I came out as bisexual, and whenever i needed a shoulder to cry on, she was there.She was the sweetest, most caring and loving woman I had the pleasure to know and love, and have her love me. I know that from now on, you will walk beside me watching over me, protecting me, and eternally loving me from heaven above. Blood doesn’t make a family, love does. and i’ll love you forever and always nanny
