With heavy hearts, the family of Loyal Hunt announce the passing of a beloved Dad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend on July 27, 2021, at the age of 95. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his three children and loved ones at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray. Loyal will always be remembered as “such a sweet man.” He had a smile for everyone and took the time of day for a visit, chats with randoms, and even handwritten letters to family and friends. He loved to tell a few good stories and had a great sense of humour about growing older, which we will miss greatly. Loyal is survived by his children Tamra (Brian), Gene (Janet), and Carla (Dwayne); Grandchildren, Lauren, Cohen, Scott (Julie), Rhyanna, Calista, Julian, Loyal, and Jenna; Great-grandchildren Kendra, Alex, Owen, and Austin; brothers Cecil, Wade, Tuney (Audrey) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph (Annie) Rebecca Hunt; brothers Llewellyn, Bill, Charles, and Martin; sisters; Violet, Stella, Blanche, Freda, Dulcie, and Marjory. The Family would like to thank all those who have shown Dad kindness and care over the years, especially the staff at Rotary House. This was so appreciated. Loyal’s wish is to be cremated. A memorial service will be held on August 21st, 2021, at 2 pm at All Saints’ Anglican Church downtown Fort McMurray, AB.
