Albert Stanley Parsons Obituary

We sadly announce the passing of Albert Stanley Parsons at his home on August 31, 2022, at the age of 72. Al was the son of George and Hannah Mae Parsons of Garden Cove, Newfoundland. Al worked in St. John’s and Come-by-Chance before moving to Fort McMurray in 1975 to start a career with Syncrude as part of the first group of process operators. Al developed a fond interest in Amateur Radio, and his passion helped to grow the Radio Club in Fort McMurray.


Albert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth and their children, Monica (Tyler), Reynard (Joy), Julie (Dave) and Joanne (Angus); grandchildren Kayla, Nathen (Becca), Alexa (Gunnar), Lucas, Jessica, James, Bryce, Maya, Will and Grayson; great-grandchildren Lila, Charlie, Camry, Asher and Jayce; his brothers Freeman (Sandra) and Fraser (Heather). Albert was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Edmund and Bruce.


Al will be missed by his large family and circle of friends, whom he and Elizabeth always loved to host and make welcome in their home.


A gathering to honour Al will be held at the MacNeil residence in Fort McMurray in an open-house style on October 15th from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Please contact the family for the address, or email joanne7969@outlook.com
