It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Wayne Holmes, who passed peacefully and left this world on March 10, 2022, at the age of 63 years. Tony passed away at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with complications leading to end-stage liver failure.

Tony faced numerous medical challenges, undergoing countless procedures and operations. Despite the relentless struggles he endured. Tony remained resilient, always wearing a smile on his face, and maintaining a positive attitude. His unwavering determination to regain his health was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Tony possessed a heart of gold, overflowing with love and compassion for others. His kind and loving nature touched the hearts of everyone he encountered, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy and comfort to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Tony leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his three children: Stephen, Marlena and Christopher, who meant the world to him. Tony's love extended to his two cherished grandchildren: William and Benjamin, who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his four sisters: Dianne, Ada, Glenda (Jim) and Roxanne, as well as his brother: Ross (Lisa). Tony's memory will be cherished by a large circle of extended family and friends who share in his journey.

He was predeceased by his eldest daughter: Lorelei; his parents: Edna and Raymond; brother: Owen, sister: Sheila, and mother-in-law: Ethel Leyte. Although Tony's departure has left a void in the lives of those who loved him, the memories of his warmth and love will forever remain in their hearts.

In accordance with Tony's wishes, he has been cremated and will be laid to rest alongside his beloved daughter, Lorelei, at Wing's Point Pentecostal Cemetery. A memorial service will be held to honour Tony's life on June 8, 2023, at 2:00pm, at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church. This will be an opportunity for famliy and friends to gather, celebrate Tony's life, and find solace in each other's company.

Tony's departure marks the end of his earthly journey, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. As we bid farewell to this remarkable indivual, let us remember him for his unwavering strength, infectious smile, and the love he shared with the world. May his soul find eternal peace; and may his memory forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
