With harrowing sadness, we announce the passing of Karla-Rae Forsey, a loving wife, mother, and gifted photographer, who left us far too soon at the age of 43.

Karla-Rae had a deep love for the boreal forest, the wild beauty of nature, and all animals that she encountered and raised. She found peace among the moss and trees, where she felt most at ease. She captured magic through her passionate lens. Her way of seeing and preserving the beauty in people through her magnificent ideas was unique, and highly admired. She especially loved working with children, bringing out their purest moments in her work.

A survivor of childhood abuse, Karla-Rae carried a strength that defined her. She turned her pain into compassion, always reaching out to others with kindness and understanding. Her heart was as big as her ideas and photography allowed her to showcase her talent while offering charity photo sessions to support the local food bank for the last 13 years with her Halloween shoots by donation.

Above all, she was a devoted mother to her four children, whom she loved fiercely. Her presence was a constant source of warmth and love, and her legacy lives on through her beautiful children.

A celebration of Karla-Rae’s life will be held at Doug Barnes Cabin near the Birchwood Trails at a later date.

Here she will forever be with the forest she dearly loved her spirit amongst the trees and trails we now graciously walk and observe it's beauty in her honour.

Karla-Rae is survived by her husband, Albert; four children, Devyn, Jayden, Aeris, Cash; mother Sandra; sisters, Koryn, Kristin, Kara; nephews and nieces, Camden, Everly, Harrison, Mercer, Halston, Maximus, and Zenon.

Karla-Rae is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Oscar and Honoria Krekoski; maternal grandparents, Alex and Aileen McKinnon; father-in-law, Paul Forsey and Aunt Shirley McKinnon.
