Obituary of Robert MacLellan

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Robert Archibald MacLellan , age 67 years of Fort McMurray, formerly of Glendale, Nova Scotia on Friday April 4, 2025 at his home residence.

Robert was born on January 30, 1958 to his loving parents, Norman R. and Grantie (Cummings) MacLellan in Inverness, Nova Scotia.

Robert’s main joy in life, other than his family, was driving semi trucks. After many years working at Transpac Ltd. Robert ventured out west to Fort McMurray, AB to continue his illustrious career in the trucking industry. While he worked for H. Wilson industries and Centerfire Energy Group, he made sure that everyone around him had a smile, either from personal stories or by showing the new and upcoming drivers the way things needed to be done. He took great pride not only in teaching new drivers, but also making them feel as family to the trucking world he loved so much.

If Robert wasn’t on the road hauling asphalt, gravel, snow, water or fuel, you would always find him at home, either chatting away on the phone or in the garage entertaining the many friends he has made along the way. His stories will live on forever.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; daughter Sandra (Paul MacNeil) MacLellan of Glendale, NS; and son Rod (Lesley) MacLellan of Fort McMurray, AB. He also leaves his grandchildren; Vanessa (Austin), Isaac, Rylan, JR, and Marshall as well as son in law Bruce Embree and life long partner in crime, Charles MacLean.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Norman and Grantie MacLellan, his sister Elena Pardoe and nephew Jerome Pardoe.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of  Robert Anderson Funeral Home in Fort McMurray. As per Robert’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Fort McMurray SPCA.
