It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Terry Wayne Van Meer (73) on June 20, 2024 in Fort Mc Murray, Alberta.

Terry was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 24, 1950 to Kenneth and Marie.  Terry attended the University of Alberta and earned his BSC degree.  He worked as an environmental biologist at Syncrude from 1977 until his retirement in 2010.

Terry had many varied interests. He was an amateur furniture maker and had all the tools and parts needed.  Terry was an avid collector of comics, trading cards, model cars, books, music.  One of his favorite things was being able to take a drive in his Mustang with his faithful Boxer drooling beside him.

Terry is survived by his sisters, Sharon, and Janice (Ed Keller); brother, Brent (Patricia); nephews, Kevin and Justin; nieces, Carrie, Krystal, and Michelle; 4 great nieces, and 2 great nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Marie and brother-in-law Dale Haluschak.

Trivial pursuit nights will never be the same. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 

A celebration of Terry Wayne Van Meer's life will be held at the Irish Sports & Social Society at 12546 126 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 0X3 on July 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
