Deirdre was a woman of deep faith whose lively spirit (and purple hair!) touched everyone she met. She found great joy in tending the church garden, nurturing each flower with the same care she offered to those around her. She spent much of her time in her beloved Birchwood Trails; whether walking through quiet forest paths or admiring the changing seasons, she felt closest to God in the beauty of nature. Her steady grace, love for creation, and unwavering faith will be cherished and remembered always.
Deirdre is survived by her husband Leo McDaniel; children Derrick (Celina), Leonie (Darcy), Nor’Ali (Clayton), and Mynthia (Ted); grandchildren Neve, Ewan, Patrick, Leo, and Aurelia; great-grandchild Myles; sister, Mary Peart; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ireland. She is preceded in death by her parents Laurence and Agnes; and siblings Michael, Frank, Sean, Una, Andrea, Laurence (Lanze) and Declan.
In accordance with her wishes, Deirdre will be cremated and returned to Ireland to be interred with her parents and brothers, Micheal and Declan, in the cemetery of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan.
True to her nature—and per Deirdre’s request—the next time you say a prayer for her, for the love of all that is holy, make sure she CAN HEAR YOU!!!
