It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Frederick (Fred) Williams announce his passing at the Northern Lights Hospital in Fort McMurray, AB on Sunday January 25, 2026 at the age of 81, surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 46 years, Fronie; his son Justin and the lights of his life, his grandchildren Gabe and Grace.

Fred was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Theresa, who he loved like a daughter. He was also predeceased by his parents Jack and Christine Williams; his brothers Gordon and Don and his sister Jeanetta (Michael) as well as parents-in-law Winston and Minnette Gosse.

Fred leaves behind with fond memories, his siblings; Geraldine (Norm), Marge (Aub), Johnny (Roma), Derek (Michelle) and Magaret. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law; Beverley Cribb, Michelle (Earl) Lawlor, Kim (Todd) MacDonald, Dena Gosse and his brother-in-law Dean Gosse, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He also leaves to remember him with loving memories, his friends Roy and Neta Pinksen and Randy and Myra Bailey.

Fred had a love of woodworking, building furniture and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also loved fishing and camping and had camped at the same campground for over 20 years, where he made many good friends. This was his happy place. He also served in the Canadian Navy and was a lifetime member of the Legion.

The family will be having a Memorial Service in the summer (date to be determined) at his happy place – Plamondon Whitesands Beach Resort in Plamondon, AB.
