Mary Margaret "Peggy" Antle Obituary
In Loving Memory of a Life Well Lived
It is with heavy hearts and grateful spirits that we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, grandmother (nan/nanny), and great-grandmother (GG) - a woman whose heart was as beautiful as her smile, Mary Margaret (Peggy) Antle, born June 10, 1947, passed February 24, 2026.
Our mother loved fiercely and wholeheartedly. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and extended circle were the very center of her world. She was her family's biggest cheerleader, generous with her hugs, and always ready with a warm smile and a seat at her table. She was kindness in human form - the kind of person who carefully wrote birthdays in her little book so she would never forget, who saved your favorite snack (even if it happened to be hers), and who listened without judgment. Her heart was generous, her laughter contagious, and her advice often came with a humorous twist - usually with a hint of mischief. She was the quiet glue that held her family together for decades - steady, selfless, and always putting her seven children before herself. She worried about us than she ever worried about her own needs, and loving each of us was the work of her lifetime.
She taught us that love is found in everyday moments - in short road trips, in lighthearted jokes and stories, in a quick phone call just to check in, and in simply being there. No goodbye was complete without her long-time phrase, shared by family and friends alike: "See ya, loves ya, bye." It was always followed by a little chuckle.
Spontaneous by nature, she was always ready for an adventure - especially if it involved a bingo card. If there was a game to be played, she was there, dauber in hand, eyes sharp, and convinced this would be her big win (and sometimes, it was!). Bingo wasn't just a pastime; it was an event, and she brought the fun wherever she went. She also loved gathering around the table with friends for a spirited game of scat. Winning or losing didn't matter - she cherished the laughter, the chatter, and the company.
Our mother shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Chloe - affectionately known as her "eighth child." Chloe was her faithful companion for 19 years and passed away recently. We find comfort in imagining them reunited once again.
We will forever remember her beautiful hands - the hands that held us, comforted us, and showed us what unconditional love feels like. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her children, wrapped in the same love she spent a lifetime giving so freely.
Though we miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing that heaven has gained the most enthusiastic bingo player it has ever seen. Her love is stitched into our hearts forever, and we will carry it with us always.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 11am at St. Paul’s RC Church. Located on 480 Signal Road. Later this summer, her children (Brad, Kim, Nadine, Lorne, Kori, Shane and Ike) will accompany her on her final journey home to Fleur de Lys, Newfoundland - the place where she was born and raised, and where she and Chloe will rest eternally.
