It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Sidney Victor Whitford Jr. age 56 year young of Fort McMurray AB, who passed away in Edmonton AB, April 14, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

There is peace in knowing he is finally reunited with his beloved father, Sidney Sr. We are deeply blessed and profoundly grateful to have had such a loving, kind, big hearted, cultural, spiritual man in our lives.

Sidney was known by a lot of people from his travels through out Alberta, he made many smile and belly laugh as he was very comical. He welcomed everyone into his big heart. He was a kind gentle soul who faced more than his share of challenges but never lost his way of connecting with people. He left an impression on everyone who knew him. Sidney enjoyed learning cultural ceremony and cultural ways and made sure to share his learning with everyone.
