It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and son-in-law, Kevin Kennedy who passed away on April 21st, 2026 at the young age of 56, surrounded by his family, after his courageous battle with cancer for the past two years.

Kevin was born in Bonavista, NL on August 15th, 1969 to Calvin and Patsy Kennedy, where he spent most of his childhood with his parents and younger brother Craig. Kevin worked at the fishplant for a few years before getting his electrical degree and working as an electrician for over the past 20 years and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Kevin met his wife Tammy and together, married for 30 years this coming August, they raised their boys Jake and Noah in Newfoundland until they made a permanent move to Fort McMurray, Alberta in 2017.

Even though he was not living in Newfoundland, his love and deep connection to his hometown roots could be seen displayed in his home and in every other aspect of his life. Kevin will always be remembered for his contagious smile and lasting friendships with whoever he met. His love of the Montreal Canadiens, ball hockey, darts, skidoo rides and ice fishing, camping and watching wrestling as a family are all part of just a very small number of examples of things he enjoyed throughout the years.

He is predeceased by his parents Calvin and Patsy, his cousin Angela Ricks, and his uncle Al Hynes.

Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Tammy, sons Jake(Emily) and Noah(Casey), his brother Craig (Shelly), brother-in-law Dion (Tonya), mother-in-law and father-in-law Linda and Ray, nieces and nephews Keanna, Alex, Abagail and Lukas, and a large circle of family and friends.

Cremation is taking place and a celebration of life and burial will take place at a later date in Newfoundland.
