William Steven Durno Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved William "Will" Steven Durno on April 25th 2026. Will passed peacefully surrounded by family in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

From Pickering Ontario, Will came to Fort McMurray when he was 17 and never turned back. Will worked many years in the oil sands as a grader operator. Will loved music, it was part of his soul. He was a great guitar player but more importantly he could sing and write his own songs. When he sang he could touch your heart and move you in unexpected ways. The last few years he enjoyed Jam sessions with the boys and "girls" and spent many days repairing guitars. A kind loving gentle soul "Groundskeeper Willie" was always there to lend a helping hand and greet everyone with an open smile, even strangers.

Will is survived by his love of many years by his partner Nicole Lewis; children Andrea Sheane (Jimmy), David Durno, Allison Parker, Jay Lewis, Scott Lewis (Ashley), Brother George Durno (Deanne) grandchildren ; Elizabeth Julia Parker Ellie Cohen Ember nephew Robert (Katie Dylan Beth) and niece Christina Fox (Jamie Nick).

Will is pre deceased by his loving parents Robert and Elizabeth his brother Rob and his grandson Perley.

A celebration of life will be held at the Quality Hotel in Gregoire May 9th 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
