With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Nicholas Thistle on June 5, in Fort McMurray, Alberta, at the age of 35. Though his time with us was far too short, Stephen filled his years with laughter, kindness, and a genuine love for those fortunate enough to know him.

Predeceased by his grandparents, Agnes and Bruce Thistle, and Joan and Jerome Maddigan.

Leaving to mourn, with countless fond and loving memories, are his devoted parents, Susan and Cyril Thistle; his sister, Andrea O'Keefe (Philip), and his cherished niece, Penelope; his dearest friends, Andrew White, CaSaundra Rideout, and her son, Samuel, who became family to him; his girlfriend, Rebecca Jewers, and her sons, Cash and Aiden; his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins; and his Syncrude work family and many dear friends. All were touched by his kindness, humour, and generous spirit.

Visitation will take place at Caul's Funeral Home on Monday, June 22, from 7:00 p.m. NDT to 9:00 p.m. NDT, and on Tuesday, June 23, from 11:00 a.m. NDT to 4:00 p.m. NDT and 7:00 p.m. NDT to 9:00 p.m. NDT A funeral service celebrating Stephen's life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, at St. Teresa's Church 11 a.m. NDT with inurnment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
