In Loving Memory of ZhiHui Li

March 10, 1938 – June 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of ZhiHui Li on June 15, 2026, at the age of 89. He departed this world just as he lived in it—with quiet dignity, an enduring work ethic, and a heart full of devotion for his family and community.

Born on March 10, 1938, in Jinan City, Shandong Province, China, to YanYing Han and YunTian Li, ZhiHui’s life was a testament to the power of hard work, resilience, and integrity. In 1956, he began his career as a blacksmith with the Nan Cha Railway cart department of the Jia Mu Si Railway Company in Heilongjiang Province. Through sheer dedication, he rose to become a journeyman blacksmith, a supervisor, and eventually the director of the company’s ginseng farm.

His reliability was legendary; throughout his entire 38-year career, he never called in sick even once. His robust health and iron will matched his profession, and over his entire career life, he never stayed in a hospital for more than a single day. Year after year, his exceptional contributions were recognized, earning him the honor of being named one of the company’s best employees.

After his distinguished career, ZhiHui retired in 1994 and returned to the Zhangqiu district of Jinan City. It was here, and later in Canada after immigrating in 2013 to live with his son, that he fully poured his heart into his passion for gardening. Till the very last day of his life, he tended to the earth, gifting an abundance of fresh, organic vegetables to family, friends, and neighbors alike. He lived strictly by his daily mantra: "If I can live one more extra minute, I will work all sixty seconds." He practiced this belief beautifully until his final breath.

ZhiHui was the bedrock of his family. He single-handedly supported a household of six on his sole salary, carving out a prosperous and secure life without ever asking for help. His 38 years of loyal service to the railway allowed him to move his family back to Shandong, hauling an entire trainload of goods seamlessly. He built a family home in their hometown, ensuring his children would never bear a financial burden when the old building was later demolished.

He was a man of immense emotional stability, quiet strength, and broad vision. He never engaged in petty squabbles, choosing instead to focus on the bigger picture, prioritizing harmony, and showing endless tolerance and forgiveness. Through his sincere and gentle eyes, he viewed the entire world with kindness—to him, every person he met was a friend, and anyone who ever knew him agreed that ZhiHui was a truly good and loyal friend.

We will forever cherish the memory of our childhoods, remembering how he would carry us on his back when we were sick, trekking through mountains and rivers to reach a doctor. His greatest joy and pride were raising a wonderful son, ensuring that in his later years, he could experience and see things that most people never encounter in several lifetimes.

ZhiHui’s love story began in elementary school in Zhangqiu, where he met the love of his life, XiuYing Wang. They were wed in 1963 and shared a beautiful 63-year journey together.

ZhiHui is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife, XiuYing Wang; his son, ChangHong Li (with wife, XinYu Qiu); his three daughters, HongWei Li (with husband, DeJin Tian), WeiDong Li(with husband, SiZhong Zhang), and ChangWei Li; and his two sisters, KuanRong Li and KuanHua Li (with husband, ChuanSheng Xie); his four grandchildren, Ariel SiYue Li(with husband, David Li), Evan MingYue Li, Sheng Tian(with wife YuYa Sun), and XinYi Zhang; and his two great-grandchildren, August Li and JiaYi Tian.

 He was predeceased by his loving parents, YunTian Li and YanYing Han.

Celebration of Life A Celebration of Life will be held at Robert Anderson Funeral Services (#115 – 190 MacAlpine Cres, Fort McMurray, AB) on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

深切缅怀李执晖先生

我们怀着沉痛的心情宣布，李执晖先生于2026年6月15日逝世，享年89岁。他离开人世的方式，正如他生前一样——沉稳尊严，勤勉敬业，对家庭和社会充满奉献。

李执晖先生于1938年3月10日出生于中国山东省济南市，父母分别是韩延英和李允

田。他的一生是勤奋、坚韧和正直的最佳写照。1956年，他进入黑龙江省佳木斯铁路分局南岔铁路车辆段，从一名铁匠做起。凭借着勤奋努力，他从一名熟练铁匠、一名主管，最终晋升为公司人参农场的负责人。

他的可靠堪称传奇；在他长达38年的职业生涯中，从未请过一次病假。他强健的体魄和钢铁般的意志与他的职业相得益彰，整个职业生涯中，他从未住院超过一天。他的卓越贡献年复一年地得到认可，使他荣获公司最佳员工称号。

在辉煌的职业生涯结束后，执晖于1994年退休，回到济南市章丘区。正是在这里，以及后来在2013年移民加拿大与儿子同住之后，他将全部心血倾注于自己对园艺的热爱。直到生命的最后一刻，他都悉心照料着土地，将丰盛的新鲜有机蔬菜赠予家人、朋友和邻居。他始终恪守着自己的人生信条：“如果我能多活一分钟，我就会工作整整六十秒。”他将这一信念完美地践行到生命的最后一刻。

执晖是家里的顶梁柱。他凭借一己之力，仅凭一份薪水就养活了一家六口，白手起家，从未向人求助。他对铁路事业忠心耿耿地服务了38年，最终得以带着家人回到山东，并顺利地完成了一整列火车的货物运输任务。他在家乡建起了新房，确保孩子们在老房子拆除后不会背负沉重的经济负担。

他是一位心思细腻、意志坚定、胸怀宽广的人。他从不卷入琐碎的争吵，而是着眼于大局，重视和谐，展现出无尽的宽容和原谅。他用真诚而温柔的目光看待世界，眼中只有善意——在他眼里，遇到的每个人都是朋友。所有认识他的人都一致认为，执晖是一位真正善良忠诚的朋友。

我们将永远珍藏童年的记忆，永远铭记他。记得他背着生病的我们，跋山涉水去看医生。他最大的快乐和骄傲就是养育了一个优秀的儿子，让他在晚年能够体验和欣赏到大多数人几辈子都无法企及的美景。

执晖的爱情故事始于章丘的小学，在那里他遇到了此生挚爱王秀英。他们于1963年喜结连理，携手走过了63年的美好人生。

执晖的离世令他挚爱的妻子王秀英、儿子李长洪(携妻子，丘新宇)、大女儿李红伟（携丈夫，田德进、二女儿李卫东（携丈夫，张思忠）和三女儿李长伟；以及两个妹妹李宽荣和李宽花（携丈夫，解传胜）; 他的四个孙子女，李思月（携丈夫，戴维李）、李明月、田胜(携妻子，孙玉雅)，和张欣怡；以及他的两个曾孙女，李奥古斯特和田佳怡深感悲痛。

他的父母李允田和韩延英已先他而去。
