Obituary of Dwayne Lawrence Sharkey

It is with profound sorrow and the heaviest of hearts, that we announce the passing of Dwayne Lawrence Sharkey, after a brief illness.

Dwayne passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital with his loving wife, Collene, children & immediate family by his side.

Dwayne gave this life 68 wonderful years and will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dwayne was the beloved son of the late Lawrence & Olga Sharkey. He was a loving husband to Collene (Drover) Sharkey and a devoted father to his two girls, Danielle Sharkey Newsome & Lisa (Jose’) Rosales. 

He was also a supportive and loving Stepfather to Ryan (Kimberly) Bryan and Richard (Jessalyn) Bryan. Dwayne was a great brother to Keith (Marlene) Sharkey, Marlene (Brian) Fuduric, Tammy Sharkey and Shannon (Troy) Peats. 

Dwayne will be deeply missed by his nine grandchildren: Jaeden, Victoria, Tao, Kreeannah, Exavian, Evan, Austin, Brantley & Abryanna.

He will be sadly missed by his fur baby, Ember with her unconditional love. 

He will also be missed by his Aunties, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, In-Laws and Work family at Diversified Transportation.

The family would like to thank the Doctors & Nurses at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for taking such wonderful care of Dwayne during his illness and in his last hours. 

A celebration of life will be officiated by Pastor Robert Parmenter in a double service for Dwayne & his Mother, Olga, who passed away three days before Dwayne. 

Service will be held September 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the McMurray Gospel Assembly, 10110 Main St., Fort McMurray, AB. 

Cremation has taken place and at a later date.  There will be a service in Heinsburg AB., with burial at Frog Lake Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA or Animal Rescue of your choice in Dwayne’s name.
