Robert Anderson - Original Business Owner, Licensed Embalmer & Funeral Director

Robert Anderson served Fort McMurray and the surrounding area for over 50 years and would like to thank you for your support. He was honoured to be able to serve the community and all of its many members throughout the years.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Robert Anderson passed away on Sunday, July 17th, 2022. Bob was a trailblazer in the funeral industry and paved the way for many professionals in the industry. In keeping with Bob's wishes, Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. will in his honor, continue to service the communities he called home including, Fort McMurray, Fort MacKay, Fort Chipewyan, Anzac, Janvier and Conklin. Robert Parmenter - Owner, Manager, Licensed Funeral Director, Ordained Minister & Celebrant

Robert has been a part of Fort McMurray for over 38 years and is dedicated to this community he calls home. He joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in 2020 and quickly found his love and passion for helping others in Robert is a volunteer with several different agencies in Fort McMurray and serves as a Chaplain for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and a Padre for the Royal Canadian Legion. Robert welcomes you to reach out with any questions in planning or pre-arranging your funeral. He is a compassionate person and will offer “Service From The Heart”.

Melanie Murrin - Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Melanie studied the Funeral Services Program through Mount Royal University and joined the Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. team in November 2021. She has quickly become a great asset and is dedicated to serving this community where she was born and raised for many years to come.
Melanie is an avid volunteer with different agencies throughout the city and enjoys giving back to her hometown.

Kristin Fitzpatrick - Owner, Registered Social Worker, Funeral Attendant & Student Funeral Director

Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Kristin is passionate about providing an exceptional standard of funeral service to her community. She joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in 2007 and brings experience as a Funeral Attendant within an administrative role, grief support as a Registered Social Worker and is working towards her Funeral Director license in 2023. Kristin is honoured to support families in their time of need and works with the Victim Services Unit of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Delaina Grant - Funeral Attendant

Delaina's enthusiasm for the funeral service industry began fresh out of high school and she first became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2001 through the province of Newfoundland, which she originally called home. After 2 years in the industry, she moved on to different adventures until she moved to Edmonton, Alberta where she returned to her love of the funeral business.
With another big move in her future to Fort McMurray, Delaina gained plenty of oilsands experience where she stayed for 13 years before opportunity knocked again. She joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in October 2022 as a Funeral Attendant.
Delaina is preparing to have her Alberta Funeral License renewed so she can fully service the gracious community of Fort McMurray.


Andrew Montgomery Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Trained Crematory Operator

Andrew began his career in the Funeral Industry in 1987. He worked as a Funeral Directory a Primary Embalmer in Vulcan, AB for 9 years. Later he traveled to Edmonton, and then to Fort McMurray. He has worked in the industry for 37 years as a dual licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Trained Crematory Operator. Andrew joined the team at Robert Anderson Funeral Services in winter of 2023. Andrw can often be seen at the Mac Island aquatic centre. 


Jamie Ann Makarchuk Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Trained Crematory Operator &    Pre-need Funeral Director  

Jamie began working in the Funeral Industry in 2018 after moving from a small town in Manitoba to the big city of Edmonton. She later completed her studies at the Canadian College of Funeral Service in 2019 and shortly after became dual licensed. While in Edmonton she was given the opportunity to train at a crematorium, along side working as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.  She moved to Fort McMurray in the winter of 2021 and joined the team at Robert Andreson Funeral Services in the autumn of 2023. Jamie is a member with McMurray Métis MNA Local 1935.  She greatly enjoys volunteering within the community, spending time at the gym, with friends and family & chilling with her two cats.


Sin Yip Wong Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Trained Crematory Operator

Sin began his career in the Funeral Industry in 2014. He worked in Edmonton as a Funeral Attendant and Funeral Directors Assistant. Later he enrolled in the Canadian College of Funeral Service and became a dual licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. While in Edmonton he was given the opportunity to train at a crematorium, along side working as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He then moved to Fort McMurray in the summer of 2020 and later joined the team at Robert Andreson Funeral Services in the winter of 2023.
