Robert Anderson - Original Business Owner, Licensed Embalmer & Funeral Director

Robert Anderson served Fort McMurray and the surrounding area for over 50 years and would like to thank you for your support. He was honoured to be able to serve the community and all of its many members throughout the years.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Robert Anderson passed away on Sunday, July 17th, 2022. Bob was a trailblazer in the funeral industry and paved the way for many professionals in the industry. In keeping with Bob's wishes, Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. will in his honor, continue to service the communities he called home including, Fort McMurray, Fort MacKay, Fort Chipewyan, Anzac, Janvier and Conklin. Robert Parmenter - Owner, Manager, Licensed Funeral Director, Ordained Minister & Celebrant

Robert has been a part of Fort McMurray for over 38 years and is dedicated to this community he calls home. He joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in 2020 and quickly found his love and passion for helping others in Robert is a volunteer with several different agencies in Fort McMurray and serves as a Chaplain for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and a Padre for the Royal Canadian Legion. Robert welcomes you to reach out with any questions in planning or pre-arranging your funeral. He is a compassionate person and will offer “Service From The Heart”.

Melanie Murrin - Licensed Embalmer & Student Funeral Director

Melanie studied the Funeral Services Program through Mount Royal University and joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in November 2021. She has quickly become a great asset to the team and is dedicated to serving this community where she was born and raised for many years to come.
Melanie is an avid volunteer with different agencies throughout the city and is preparing for her Funeral Director's licensing exam in 2023.

Kristin Fitzpatrick - Owner, Registered Social Worker, Funeral Attendant & Student Funeral Director

Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Kristin is passionate about providing an exceptional standard of funeral service to her community. She joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in 2007 and brings experience as a Funeral Attendant within an administrative role, grief support as a Registered Social Worker and is working towards her Funeral Director license in 2023. Kristin is honoured to support families in their time of need and works with the Victim Services Unit of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Suzanne Thibodeau - Funeral Attendant

Suzanne became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in July 2010 serving families in her hometown of Tecumseh, Ontario. Funeral services are her passion and have proven to be a meaningful and rewarding career. She is committed to delivering the highest level of service to families and her colleagues.
Suzanne proudly joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in November 2022 as a Funeral Attendant and is preparing for her Alberta licensing exam in 2023. She understands how devastating and emotional the loss of a loved one can be after the loss of her spouse and both of her parents all to cancer over the short span of only 8 years. Suzanne believes wholeheartedly in celebrating your loved one's life story. She is building relationships in the community with the client families that we serve and is devoted to giving back to the community through volunteering and assisting others.

Delaina Grant - Funeral Attendant

Delaina's enthusiasm for the funeral service industry began fresh out of high school and she first became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2001 through the province of Newfoundland, which she originally called home. After 2 years in the industry, she moved on to different adventures until she moved to Edmonton, Alberta where she returned to her love of the funeral business.
With another big move in her future to Fort McMurray, Delaina gained plenty of oilsands experience where she stayed for 13 years before opportunity knocked again. She joined Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. in October 2022 as a Funeral Attendant.
Delaina is preparing to have her Alberta Funeral License renewed so she can fully service the gracious community of Fort McMurray.
