George Nokohoo, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 25, 2018. He was born on February 7, 1937 to Genevieve Lemaigre (Nokohoo) and step father Johnny Lemaigre. On October 3, 1960, he married Alma Marie Lemaigre. Together, they had five sons & two daughters. George and Alma enjoyed their cabin together as well as spending time with family and friends. George, a respected member of the community and a hard working man, good provider for his family, a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, a hunter, fisherman, trapper and Chief. George’s special interests and hobbies included listening to old country, playing guitar and singing. 
 
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Alma; sons, Jules, Richard and Murray; daughters, Jacquelyn and Mara; step sister Rose Marie Herman; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents, grandfather John Nokohoo, baby Richard and eldest son Albert.

Viewing will be held Monday, October 29th-31st, 2018 at the Nokohoo family residence at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Gabriel Church, Janvier, Alberta. Celebration of life will follow at the Municipal Building, Janvier, Alberta
