It is with great sadness that the family of Marcella Brown announces her passing on May 19, 2021, at the age of 79. Marcella was born in Ship Cove, Newfoundland on September 28, 1941, and moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta in 1982. Her lively and spirited personality left laughter and smiles wherever she went. A dedicated sports fan, she never missed a Toronto Blue Jays or Pittsburgh Penguins game, and especially loved cheering for her favourite player Sidney Crosby. She enjoyed travelling with her two daughters, taking cruises and visiting places such as Las Vegas and Toronto. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children Lindsay Brown (Sharon), Alisdair Brown, Natalie Compton (Randy), Terance Brown, and Seona Noseworthy; grandchildren Brittany Compton, Matthew Brown, Jonathan Todd, Kristen Compton, Scott Compton, Miranda Noseworthy, and Nicholi Noseworthy; great-grandchild Carter Todd; siblings Melvin Bessey (Ruby), Muriel White, Edna Reid, Noel Bessey (Ruth), Eldon Bessey (Susan), Woodrow Bessey (Jackie), Joan Bessey, Carl Bessey (Dianne), Catherine Bessey (Ed), and Keith Bessey (Pearl); as well as numerous cherished family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband John Brown, son Kurben Brown, brother Chesley Bessey, and her parents Irene Bessey (Patey) and Lawrence Bessey. A service will be held on Saturday, May 22 at 10:30 AM at Robert Anderson Funeral Home (#115 - 190 MacAlpine Crescent) in Fort McMurray, followed by a visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
