Please share a memory of Isabel (Leonard) to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with much sadness that we had to say goodbye to our forever-loved wife, sister, aunt and friend Isabel (Leonard) Caul who passed away at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta, on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the age of 60.
Isabel is predeceased by her parents William & Anastisia Leonard, brother Eugene Leonard, in-laws James & Mary Caul, brother-in-law Lar Caul, sister-in-law Patricia Caul, nieces Madonna Nixon, Denise Kennell, Denise Kuskie, nephew Shane Evans, Freddie Hiscock.
Leaving to mourn her loss with much sadness is her loving & devoted husband & Guardian Angel Derm of 34 years, sisters Theresa (Mike) Evans, Maryland USA; Donna (Jerome) Lambe, Placentia; Anita (Chris) Nixon, Edmonton; Mary (Rick) Cleary, Edmonton; brothers Leo (Joyce) Leonard, Markland; Joe (Nellie deceased) Leonard, Placentia; her sister in laws Bernice (Don) Mullaly, St. John’s; Eileen (Jim) Kennell, Torbay; Wavey Caul, St. John’s; Helen (Gaston) Breault, Ontario; brother in laws Joseph Caul, St. John’s; Jim (Donna) Caul, Moncton; Kevin (Cathy) Caul, Fort McMurray; Godchild Suzanne Gambin; as well as extended family members: nieces; great-nieces; great-great nieces; nephews; great-nephews; great-great nephews and a large circle of friends.
At the age of 19, while living in Edmonton, Isabel had an accident that changed her life forever. She suffered brain damage that left her with paralysis on the right side and made life very difficult for her. She was ready to give up until she married her Guardian Angel and best high school friend Derm. Derm took on the role of caring for Isabel like no other could do. Whatever needed to be done he did it no matter what. He was her shadow and when she was in need he was there for her. He never left her side when she was in the hospital or in special care. He was the reason she wanted to live and for this, we are very grateful. We want to thank you for giving us this time with Isabel.
Despite her struggles, she was always pleasant. She always had a smile and loved to joke. She never complained and God knows she had many reasons to. She will definitely be missed by all those who knew her and were fortunate to be a part of her life.
We would like to thank the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray and the Willow Square Continuing Care Centre for the care and compassion you showed Isabel & Derm during her stay.
"Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."
