We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Christine Anne Harnett on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022, at the age of 57.
Christine was born in Kirkland lake, Ontario, on September 29th, 1965. She later relocated to Fort McMurray, pursuing a career in power engineering and taking pride in being the first female on the Syncrude fire team. Christine met the man of her dreams, Dave. Just under a year later, they were happily married and began expanding their family. Although they resided in Fort McMurray, the Harnett's spent most of their time at the cottage they built in Lac La Biche. Christine could be found in her garden or outside the forest, where her passion for nature and animals shined bright. Everyone that had the pleasure of meeting Christine will never forget her charismatic sense of humor and love for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Dave, sons Brendan and Tyler, brothers Ivan Merrick and Mario Coallier, sisters Rita (Joe) Davis, Linda Nixon, Lise Fraser, mother-in-law Edna Harnett and her brother and sister-in-laws Andy (Carol), Florence (Charlie), Maureen (Wayne), Ross (Jeannie), Ray (Karen), Aaron (Irene), Jo-Ann (Paul), Gerald (Jenny). Christine is also Loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Christine is predeceased by her parents, Arnold and Lucille Merrick, sister Laurie Merrick, and Father in law Pleman Harnett.
A celebration of life in honour of Christine will be announced at a later date.
