It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jamie Glynn Abbott, 47, on February 10th, 2023.
Jamie grew up in Musgrave Harbour, Newfoundland. He moved to Fort Mcmurray in 2004 and worked at Syncrude for 18 years. He enjoyed painting, playing guitar, Nascar, travelling, and time spent with family and friends. Jamie will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Jamie was predeceased by his father, Kevin Abbott; his paternal grandparents, Gershon and Merida Abbott; his maternal grandparents, Louise Sturge and Glynn Guy; grandfather Harry Hicks; and his Aunt, Collen Abbott.
He is survived by his fiance Carmen Lang (Gavin and Luca), daughters Skye Abbott and Kaylee Abbott (Lesley Brinston-Abbott), his mother Catherine Blackwood (Garry Blackwood), his brothers Brendan Abbott (Desiree Downey), Paul Abbott (Charlotte Stratton), nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and a long list of family and friends.
As opposed to traditional funeral services, a Celebration of Life will be held in Jamie’s honour. Family and friends will gather at Doug Barnes cabin, 161 Tamarack Way, Fort McMurray, on February 26th, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
Live streaming will begin at 2:30MST for those unable to attend in person. The link will be available on the Robert Anderson Funeral Services Facebook page.
