Obituary of Wing Chow

The family of Wing (Wayne) Chow is saddened to announce his passing on February 21, 2023, in Fort McMurray, Alberta, at the age of 90 years.

He is survived by his wife Anne of 65 years, daughter Lorraine (Richard), son Colin (Val), grandsons Matthew, Tyler and Jordan, in-laws William and Helen (James), as well as many nephews and nieces.

Wayne was born in China to Dave Chow and Mae Wong. He moved to Canada in 1949, living first in Boyle and then in Drayton Valley. In 1959 he and Anne moved to Fort McMurray, where they raised their family and had a successful business career. Wayne retired in 1992 and began his passion for golf.

Wayne loved his family and was immensely proud of each and every one of them. He also loved his many friends and enjoyed sharing stories with them. We will miss him.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the caregivers at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks for memorial donations to be made to Northern Lights Health Foundation.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled to take place Saturday, August 26th at Shell Place in the Grand Ballroom from 2pm - 4pm.
