I first met Austin and Marie in the early 1970’s. They had just moved to Moulton (in Cheshire England). Austin was involved with the Moulton Football Club, as were my grandparents Harry and Annie Hankey so Austin was more or less always calling at their house to talk about football. You always knew when Austin was out and about especially in this big red car he had as you could hear it as he zoomed past.
I knew Austin and Marie had young children Jane, and twin girls Susan and Andrea so I had offered to help Marie by taking the girls out in the pram with Jane walking beside. I became part of the family, haha and lodge drive became my second home.
Great times spent and many laughs, even when we moved to Canada, Austin was always looking out for us. Thanks for all those wonderful memories. Rest In Peace Austin ❤️❤️

I will always remember the fun times spent with Austin and swimming in the pool at their home in beacon hill and Austin would always throw loonies into the pool to see if I could swim to the deep end and get them, he always had a cheerful laugh watching me try, and he was always very kind.
Our families go all the way back to our roots in England and I’d always enjoy listening to my dear Nana and Grandad Davies and even my great grandad Hankey talk about Austin playing football (soccer) with Moulton and sharing those stories with lots of laughs.
I’ll also remember and cherish listening to my dear dad in heaven (David) speaking so highly of Austin (along with so many other English, Irish and Scottish workers at Syncrude that Austin looked out for) he was very well respected and is still remembered at Syncrude to this day.
May you rest in peace Austin, god bless.

We always so looked forward to our Uncle Austin coming home (to England) - we knew we would have so much fun with him…. Taking us for a drive and driving silly…. Taking us to the candy shop to load is up with sweets… taking us to the chip shop and placing a huge order for the whole 2 families and anyone else who was around…. We remember so fondly the day trips our families went on together and the fact that we all loved each other soo much even though we lived so far apart…. That was testament to our lovely Dads… who always put family first and forever…. Sending all our love and taking comfort in thinking of our Dads being together again along with their beloved sister …. Austin, Stan and Joyce reunited for eternity….miss you all forever Deb xxx
