Obituary of Jack Leirdal

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts that the family of Peter Nels John Leirdal announces his passing on March 15, 2023, in Fort McMurray, Alberta. For as long as we can remember, he was always known as Jackie. He was born and raised his entire life in Fort McMurray. While growing up, he was your typical boy causing a little trouble here and there. At a young age, he went to work at McGinnis Fisheries at Crackingstone Saskatchewan and was there for a number of years. Later on, he went to work under two great managers; Ed Fedun and Gordon Dolling, at Fort McMurray Plumbing and Heating for 43 years - They just could not get rid of him. In his retirement, he stayed pretty close to home, keeping the yard up and making sure his older brother, David, did not get into any trouble. He made numerous trips to Edmonton and British Columbia to visit family and his favourite sister, Joan. He was on the quiet side but very particular about how things were done around the home. He and his brother David remained single their entire lives and shared a home together in Fort McMurray. Taking care of his sister was always very important to Jackie. Jackie was predeceased by his Mother, Alice Leirdal and Father, Nels Leirdal. Left to cherish, brother David, sister Joan (Rod), niece Darlene (Don), nephew Troy, great nephew Travis (Angela), great niece Chelsea (Shae). We are very sad to lose our loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend. We were fortunate to have Jackie in our lives. A service for Jackie will be announced at a later date.
