Obituary of Rosalie St Jean Plamondon Jack

Please share a memory of Rosalie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Rosalie Marie Jack, at the wonderful age of 96, just weeks short of her 97th birthday. She leaves to mourn her nine children: Barry (Louise) Plamondon, Darlene (Mel) Hirshmiller, Lorna (Brian) Tolman, Alan (Renee) Plamondon, Marilyn Young, Carol Doody, Joyce (Peter) Oliver, Barb (Brent) MacMillan, and Patrick (Trudie-Ann) Plamondon; Her 32 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; her two sisters: Marcelle Richard of St. Albert and Florence Ward of Calgary; sisters-in-law: Lou Plamondon, Therese Plamondon, Lena Oxtoby, and Alvine St. Jean, as well as many more relatives and friends.

Mom was predeceased by her first husband, Adelard (Eddy) Plamondon; and her second husband, William (Bill) Jack; her parents: William and Marie St. Jean; her son, Miles Plamondon; her grandson, Robert Plamondon; her brothers: Philias, Ovila, Robert, Emile, and Arthur; her sisters: Maryanna and Sylvie; and her sons-in-law: Glen Young and Jeremiah (Jerry) Doody.

Rosalie was an avid sports fan and was still bowling in her 95th year. Mom loved the Toronto Blue Jays and the Edmonton Oilers, and watched every game she could. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League for 65 years; Fort McMurray's Senior Citizen of the year in 2000, and that was a very proud honour for Mom. She loved to play cards and enjoyed teaching her children how to play. Music was always a joy, especially live music. Knitting was a gift, and she would make dishcloths and dish towels for everyone. Reading books was another thing that Mom enjoyed doing. We will always remember Mom laughing so hard until she cried as a cherished memory.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Rotary House Seniors Lodge, Willow Square Continuing Care Centre and the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

Memorial donations may be made to the Elves Special Needs Organization, the Golden Years Society of Fort McMurray, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choosing.
