Obituary of Karen Mary Eisenhauer

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Karen Mary Eisenhauer. Karen fought a very courageous, short-term battle with cancer and passed away on December 13^th, 2023, at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta with her loving sons by her side.

Karen was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland on November 20^th, 1954, to her late parents Herman and Rita Eisenhauer. Karen leaves to mourn her loving sons: Karl (Carla) Hennessey and Terry (Robin) Hennessey; Grandchildren: Ethan, Addison, Ella, and Teigan Hennessey, and her specially embraced granddaughter, Peyton Major-Johnson.

As 1 of 6 children, Karen leaves to mourn her loving siblings: Terry (Ollie) Eisenhauer, Leigh (Denis) Tubrett, Marie (Cyril) Beson, Janice Eisenhauer and Lynn Brown as well as a large extended family.

Karen was pre-deceased by both her parents: Herman and Rita Eisenhauer, and her brother-in-law, Denis Tubrett.

Throughout her life, Karen lived and worked all over the island of Newfoundland, from St. John’s all the way up to St. Anthony, even Halifax, Nova Scotia, before she settled (for the 2^nd time) in Fort McMurray, Alberta, finally calling it her forever home.

No matter what Karen did in life, she gave it her all and her passion shone through for all events and projects that she worked on and contributed to. As a long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion, including being a board member, she will be honoured and dearly missed by all who knew her.

As per her wishes, cremation has already taken place through Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honour and remember Karen at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort McMurray, Alberta, on Thursday, December 21st, 2023, from 6pm – 9pm with a service taking place at 6:30pm.

All who knew her are invited and welcomed to attend and share their memories and stories of how Karen touched their lives.
