Obituary of Margaret Ellen Parsons

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with extreme sadness and shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Margaret Ellen Parsons. Our Lord blessed this earth with Margaret on January 4, 1946, to parents Albert and Johannah (Parsons) Blanchard in Three Mile Rock, NL.  Our Lord welcomed her back home on March 15, 2024.

He also blessed Margaret with five daughters who mourn her loss but will forever cherish her memory.

Waiting for Margaret is her loving husband, Melvin, her parents, Albert and Johannah, brothers, Willis, Melvin and Herman.  She was also predeceased by in-laws, Stewart and Winnifred Parsons, George Read, brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Gordon, Elizabeth (Clarence) Jackson, Irene (Glenn) Flatt, Anita Dennis, Clary Knott, Bob Batstone, Mary Parsons, niece, Bonnie Benedet, great nephews, Mark and Levi and great niece Catherine.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Craig), Marlene, Joy (Jerry), Maureen (Vince) Tracy (Bruce).  Grandchildren, Matthew (Natasha), Sallie (Brent), Julia (Russo), Jenna, Katie (Perry), Lilly (AJ), Garrett (Laurie), Mackenzie and Tyler.  Great grandchildren, Lincoln, Ava, Tommy and Brooke-Lynne. Mom will also be greatly missed by her life-time friend, Marie Gill, who shared many late-night chats, laughs and unforgettable support throughout mom’s illness.

There is always that one place you could go for no reason at all.  Mom’s and Daddy’s house was that place and was always warm and welcoming.  Family and friends gathered for meals, celebrations and support in times of struggle.  Mom enjoyed being the caregiver, preserving food, crafting, a game of cards and a good laugh.  She instilled her strength and honesty and independence to her family.  Her legacy will continue.

There will be a celebration of life in Rocky Harbour, NL, at St Matthews Anglican Church, on August 8, 2024, at 2 o’clock.

The family would like to thank all staff, Nurses and Doctors at Northern Lights Regional Hospital for their professionalism and kindness, and all who helped and spoke words of support in any way. We are also grateful to Robert Anderson Funeral Services of Fort McMurray and Parsons Funeral Home of Deer Lake for their guidance and support. Also a special thank you to Shari Stacey for the wonderful, positive care that you provided to our mom, she enjoyed every day with you. We will be forever grateful.

Last, but not least, Mom’s famous cat, Juice, will continue to live happily with family.

 Rest peacefully Mom.
