Hmmmm we never get a chance to say goodbye. Shocking.Painful and i certainly found the news unbelievable. Two weeks have passed and i guess this is real. No more phone calls, conferences together , event, questions, answers, laughs... No more. Now then if you can hear ne over there in heaven, thank you for giving yourself to RMWB and thank you for pouring yourself into those of us who served with you. 76 years well spent. Adieu to my mentor and friend. I will always love you . My heart goes out to your children, grand kids and family.
You were a rare gem .Heaven certainly gained an angel.
Meritorious services, a great advocate, incredible strength and a woman of inspiration .
Fare thee well Cr Jane Stroud I miss you already .

Jane was a gentle and kind lady. She golfed with steely determination. Always had a well thought out question for any Ward 4 matters that were before Council. Was prepared to pull me aside with an inciteful consideration or suggestion. Even tho' we knew we didn't fly the same political flag, Jane was old school - it was never personal; it was only about policies.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time. Her loss will be felt immensely both in the community and with those who cared for this amazing woman. She was a considerate, kind, fair and an unquestionable advocate for the region. She will be truly missed.

So sorry to hear the news of Jane's passing. I have many fond memories of her. Growing up I was a good friend of Jane's daughter Kim so I got to know Jane well over those years. Reflecting on that time I admire Jane for setting such a great example of a strong and independent woman. She was always so kind to me, when she was my softball coach she always gave me a chance to play and improve my skills, even though I wasn't very good at it! She was a champion of inclusivity and always made everyone feel welcome. She will be dearly missed, sending her family lots of love.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Janes passing! My heart breaks for all of her family and friends! She was a dear friend to me! We went on many golf trips together and enjoyed to the fullest! We even went to Hawaii - her favourite place to golf! Had lots of laughs! I will miss her friendship! I was happy to have spent the day with her a couple of weeks ago! Thinking of you all! RIP my beautiful friend! Hope you are golfing with the angels!

When our family arrived in Fort McMurray in 1964, The Stroud's lived dow the street from us. Jane was already showing her giftings in high school with a caring spirit a compassion for her surroundings, it was the next step to serve in the capacities she did, with dedication, and love!! Will miss you Jane❣️
Condolences to family, friends and colleagues. Catherine Stephenson Wiebe, Ron Wiebe.

Just for you, Jane…You were so full of life. You never discriminated as you loved everyone the same. As these photos show we enjoyed the same type of adventures; Christmas dinner, meetings, walks for the missing or lunch with the mayor. You were always there to show your support. Thank you. I am so fortunate to have known you for so many years. We battled against each other in baseball, horseshoes and crib. You were an amazing friend and one I’m so sadden to lose. You were my sounding board, my friend and my “big sister.” I am thankful for your courage, your love, your friendship and your wisdom…you have touched my life in ways I will cherish forever. You were there fighting for our community, helping the community grow and you gave your very best, and it showed. Through the years I watched your strength, courage and wisdom build our community into something big and beautiful, which our fellow citizens are so proud of. Thank you for fighting the good fight…you rocked it! You just seemed to shine and that smile you wore whenever I met you was so heartwarming. I love you and I will miss you, my friend. I will never forget you…your voice will forever haunt the very depth of my soul. You were one of a kind and your loved ones are the luckiest people on earth. As you soar towards the heavens in your new Angel wings please drop one feather for me so that I will have a keep sake for strength. RIP my friend and sincerest condolences to your loved ones. May the Creator Bless them with the strength they will need in the next few days, weeks and months. So long, until we meet again.❤️❤️❤️
With love
Your friend

She was amazing I don’t think there’s enough words to describe Jane, she was beautiful, loving, caring, strong willed, intelligent most of all accepting. She would help anyone and everyone and always was at every event she could be at. Growing up in Anzac was hard enough but she was the person who gave me my first job and showed me it’s okay to make mistakes just learn from it. She was someone always smiling and always said hi to me. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by all of Anzac.
