Obituary of Irene Lavallee
It is with saddened hearts that the family announce the passing of Mary Irene Lavallee on October 7th, 2024, at the age of 79 years. Irene passed away peacefully at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, AB. surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born on October 26, 1944, she was a sister to 12 siblings, and went on to become a mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother to so many more. She loved being in nature berry picking, gardening and practicing her culture.
Irene held her family close in her heart, knowing they were the most important thing in life, together with her traditional faith. She loved caring for them all, story telling and laughing with them. She also enjoyed sneaking in her sweet treats!
Leaving to mourn the loss of this beautiful woman are her children: Alvin, Joyce, Chuck (Jenny) and Sonia Quintal; 8 grandchildren: Derek (Brittanie) Kreutzer, Wesley (Ursula) Quintal, Jenny Rideout, Shealyn McGale, Evan (Anita), Ricky, Jarred and Gabriel (Larissa) Quintal; 6 great-grandchildren: Jaden Pearson, Knox and Nayeli Kreutzer, Kaylee Flemming, Aliyah Quintal and Kiani Kreutzer; her brother Louis Lavallee and 3 sisters: MaryRose (Rollo) Lavallee, Nora Lavallee and Margaret Scott.
Sadly, Irene was predeceased in this life by her parents George Lavallee and Cecilia Quintal; the father of her children, Joseph “Joecan” Quintal; her son, Rick Quintal and 8 of her siblings.
