Obituary of Shauna Lee Marie Batog

Shauna Lee Marie Batog, resident of Fort McMurray, formerly of Redwater and Edmonton, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at the age of 56 years.

Shauna was born April 24, 1963 in Edmonton, AB. She was the daughter of Daniel and Marion Bohachyk as well sister to Perry Bohachyk.

Shauna completed the Teacher Assistant Program at Grant MacEwan Community College. She worked as a rehabilitation worker at the Millwoods Society for Community Living in Edmonton, a Teacher Assistant for the Fort McMurray Public School Board and Environmental Services for Alberta Health Services at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. She met her husband Calvin dancing at Cook County Saloon on December 13th 1997and 6 months later they married. Together they had 2 children Austin and Connor.

She was an amazing wife, mother and friend known for her radiant smile, kind heart and thoughtfulness. Shauna was a hockey mom always cheering and ringing her cow bell. She enjoyed long walks, snorkeling, skydiving, hot air ballooning, skiing, playing hockey, ping pong & mini sticks with the boys. Entertaining/cooking with family and friends with a good card game afterwards was a usual weekend activity. Seadooing, boating, cliff jumping on Kalamalka lake and visiting wineries in the Okanagan were on her summer hot list of things to do.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Calvin; children: Austin and Connor.

She was predeceased by her father Daniel and mother Marion.

Donations to the Palliative Care Unit, Northern Lights Regional Health Centre would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the Stonebridge Hotel (Athabasca Room) 9713 Hardin St, Fort McMurray AB from 1:00pm to 5:00pm with Service starting at 1:30pm.
