Family of John Garrett,
I send my thoughts and prayers to the family of my old friend John.
I met John back in Peterborough Ont. In the early 1980s when he was my manager and I was a stock boy at Sunnybrook foods grocery. We became friends, delivered pizza for Theos. He had a Grand Torino I thought was cool! Lost track of each other forward to the time of the fires in the Fort. We ran into each other in a grocery line in Ptbo. We chatted for a while and parted ways soon to find ourselves on facebook where we chatted since. We never saw each other again. Only in pictures. Talked once by phone. Sorry I never got up to the Fort to see you John. Will miss chatting on line. Know you have had your health struggles but now you can fly free my friend. God Speed my friend until we chat again. Peace

Such very sad news to hear of the passing of my “Cous” as he called all his cousin’s, John, we will miss him and his humour so very much. As we’ve both been on a path of illness John always checked in on me and I on him and he told me he and the family was on my path with as I am with him. John the last few years became the glue to hold the Johnston and Garrett family together and for that we all love him so much, not to mention all of the other loveable, wonderful things I could say.
Most of all....I was so overwhelming happy to hear him talk about his love story with Myra, not many of us in our lives have that blessing but they had a true love story♥️♥️
Rest In Peace Johnny and Myra we are here for you xxoo
