I met Mrs Robinson when I was 15yrs old; when Claire, my sister Leydin and I became friends. I have fond memories of the times I spent in her home, and I am glad that over the years we kept in touch with Christmas cards and occasional visits. I had the privilege to visit with Mrs Robinson during her hospital stay when Claire made the trip to visit her in December. Her eyes lit up with genuine joy that showed she was glad to see us. She smiled all the while talking about plants and wild birds, which she so loved. I was impressed that even in that moment she thought of others as she inquired about my family and sharing her thoughts as if we were in her living room having tea, This is how I will always remember her and I feel blessed to have known her throughout my adult life.

I met Mrs. Robinson many years ago through her daughter and my friend Claire. My sister Daisy and I had just arrived in Fort McMurray and were new to Canada. Somehow, with our broken English we managed to forge a wonderful friendship with Claire and would often make our way to Claire’s house afterschool. Mrs. Robinson would always greet us with a warm smile and the most wonderful British accent. Over the years, Mrs. Robinson was someone who always treated us with tenderness and respect. We were welcomed in her home and on many occasions were treated to her great sense of humor. When I think of Mrs. Robinson, I remember the natural way that she could make you feel at ease and her compassion and kindness. She will be missed and will always remain in my memories and in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss Karen, and your family. I enjoyed visiting you both and getting tours of the yard and gardens. Your mum was always kind to me, and I will miss her. Sending you love and comfort, thoughts and prayers. Rest easy Sheila ❤️
